Rainfall amounts the past 24 hours have been been 1-4″ over much of the winter wheat belt, locally more than 5″ over west-central Kansas. However, over the western portion of the main growing belt, rainfall amounts were a bit more hit and miss and were generally less than 1.00-1.5″ which was a bit lighter than the markets were expecting and hyped. Overall, the storm was beneficial to aid parched soils, but did come in a bit light in places over western Kansas, as well as some brought severe weather, such as hail and winds.
