Recent dryness in the Plains has left the primary Winter Wheat Belt with drought condition, which has gradually gained territory over the recent few months. The latest drought monitor map highlights dry conditions over Kansas and Oklahoma that have worsened slightly in recent weeks. However, there’s a fairly moist weather system tracking into the southern Plains later this weekend into next week with much needed rainfall. The Spring Wheat Belt of the northern Plains is also a bit dry, but should also see some rainfall over the next 5 days.
